Date: 2026mar6 Country: Thailand Q. Bangkok: Get to the Big Buddha by subway / metro A. There are many tours offered to the Big Buddha (properly called Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen - but commonly called just Wat Pakman) but its quite accessible by subway. Here's how to do just that. Its on the other side of the main river (Chao Phraya River) from where most people stay. But the subway goes under the river. Very brief directions: - Take the Blue MRT line to Bang Phai (BL33) station - Follow Google Maps walking directions to Wat Paknam Example with more details if you are coming the Pratnam district: - Walk to Airport Line Ratchaprarop (A7) station via Indra Square - Airport Line Rachaprapop (A7) station to Makkasan (A6) station direction Suvarnabhumi Airport (only one stop) - Walk to MRT Phetcheburi (BL21) station - MRT to Bang Phai (BL33) station direction Lak Song - Walk to Wat Paknam using Google Maps walking directions. (You have to cross 2 bridges over small canals) Practically its easy - you don't have to stare at your phone. Use Google Maps for the first turn then follow that road the entire way.
