Q. JetKVM: Powering my setup with only one wall plug
A.
Before JetKVM
The PC was plugged into the wall.
I had one Ethernet cable going to my server (PC).
That was fine. But...
After JetKVM
I needed two Ethernet cables - for server and JetKVM
so I used an old Ethernet hub (it had 5 ports).
But that required that it's power adapter be plugged in a drawing all the time.
The JetKVM drew its power form the USB port it was plugging in to.
I noticed that when I powered down the PC the USB port continued to supply power to JetKVM.
Even when the PC was powered down I was able to connect to the JetKVM
and virtually press the power button!
Improvement
So I bought a 3-port Ethernet hub that could be powered by USB
and plugged it into the PC. Of course, both the hub and JetKVM need to powered
all the time - whether the PC was or not - and this accomplished that.
I tested it and it worked!
So I am only using one plug for the system - the plug of the PC.
