OS: Windows
Platform: win32

Q. How can I play a .WAV file in Windows?

A. There are several ways, but the PlaySound() function is the easiest.

BOOL Play(LPCSTR szFile, const BOOL bLoop)
{
	DWORD dwFlags = SND_NODEFAULT|SND_ASYNC|SND_FILENAME;
	if (bLoop) dwFlags |= SND_LOOP;
	return ::PlaySound(szFile, NULL, dwFlags);
}

BOOL Stop()
{
	return ::PlaySound(NULL, NULL, SND_PURGE);
}

ExampleUse()
{
	Play("mysound.wav", TRUE);
	Sleep(5000);
	Stop();
}
