Q. What are the best memory settings for Adobe Premiere CS3 on XP?

A.

The Adobe knowledgebase has a big article here:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/329/329147.html

But comes down to this:

Minimum Paging file size: <your system memory> + 12 MB
	Maximum Paging file size: <your system memory> * 2

Even with that it still crashes for me so I do the following to make it
crash less often:

	- Get lots of memory!
	- Obviously, stop all other applications
	- Make a custom batch script to stop all unnecessary services - eg:

		net stop snmp
		net stop apache2
		...

	- Run your custom script before running Premiere
	- Unmount Samba shares
	- Render things as you go
	- If an action (eg Export via Adobe Media Encoder) is going
to take a long time make sure the screen safer doesn't kick in.
