Browse - computer tips - what to do when you renew a certificate

Date: 2009may6
OS: Linux

Q. I just renamed by SSL certificate. Now what do I do?

A. There is very little to do.

Assuming you have been successfully using an old certificate for
a year or more. You just need to replace your old example.com.crt
with your new example.com.crt file in the folder where it lives
(for me that's /etc/pki/example.com).
And restart the services that use it. And, of course, give the
services a try.

There is no need to remove the key or anything else.
