Date: 2007dec8 OS: Linux Q. Linux: How do you play and copy DVDs on Linux A. I don't know about all distros but here's what worked for me with Fedora 8. - Make sure you have the livna dnf repository installed and enabled. (Instructions here http://rpm.livna.org/rlowiki) - To play DVDs use The VLC Media Player
dnf install vlc
- To backup (aka copy) DVDs I tried k9copy:
dnf install k9copy
It appeared to install all right but the version I tried (1.2.0-1) crashes when I attempt to open the DVD.
